Computational Physicist or Engineer (Assistant Staff Scientist) - Inertial Confinement Fusion

Qualifications:

- A Ph.D. in Plasma Physics, Astrophysics, Computational Physics, or a related field or qualifications in Engineering is preferred.

- Proficiency in modeling and analyzing plasma phenomena or high-performance computing code development is highly valued.

- Specific experience or skills in complex numerical simulations related to Inertial Confinement Fusion are advantageous.

Qualifications:

- 7 years of experience in nuclear or fusion research and development or a related field.
- Ph.D. in Physics, Engineering, or related field with a focus on nuclear or fusion.
- Strong background in nuclear or fusion physics and fusion engineering.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
-Hands-on experience with fusion reactor design, including simulations, assembly and manufacture of components, and related items.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced research environment.
- Excellent ability for coding in various software languages.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Scientist with a background in energy conversion (e.g., nuclear, fusion) and reactor design to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in an advanced scientific or engineering degree with 5-7 years of experience in the field of nuclear fusion or equivalent. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, optical, electrical, chemical, and materials engineering principles as they apply to nuclear fusion research, including reactors, lasers, optics, targets, and injectors. The successful candidate will work on-site, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to advance our fusion research initiatives.
